  • 1/2 cup - channa dal
  • 1/2 cup - toor dal
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 inch - ginger, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch - garam masala
  • Oil

How to Make Kalmi vada

  • Soak both the dals overnight and grind them.
  • Add chopped onion, ginger and chillies along-with salt and garam masala.
  • Heat the oil for frying vadas.
  • Soak your fingers in water and make broad vadas and fry them till they are brown in colour.
  • Cut the lightly fried vadas into long pieces.
