Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - Green moong dal (cooked and mashed)
  • 2 - Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp - Rasam powder
  • 2 - Garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 3 - Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds + cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - Asafetida powder
  • 2 - Dry red chillies
  • 1 - Green chilli (slit opened)
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Lemon Green Moong Dal Rasam

  • Smash the tomatoes nicely, add the cooked and mashed green moong dal, crushed garlic cloves, rasam powder, salt, and enough water.
  • Heat a tsp of oil, add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida powder, green chilli, and red chillies, let them splutter.
  • Add the curry leaves, tomato, and pureed green moong dal water, let it boil.
  • Remove from heat, add the lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice.
