Ingredients

  • 1 cup - quick cook oats
  • 1 - lemon
  • 1/8 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt as needed
  • 1.5 cups - water
  • To Temper: 1-2 tbsp - sesame oil
  • 3/4 tsp - mustard
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 tsp - channa dal
  • ground nut (optional), a few
  • 1 sprig - curry leaves
  • 1/8 tsp - asafetida
  • 2-3 -red chilli or green chilli

How to Make Lemon oats

  • Heat a pan with oil and temper the items given in the same order.
  • Saute on medium flame until the mustard splutters.
  • Add the water, turmeric powder, the lemon juice, and salt. Bring to boil.
  • Add the oats and mix well. Cook covered for 3 minutes in medium low flame.
  • Serve hot.
