  • 1/2 cup - Macaroni
  • 1 cup - Milk
  • 2.5 tbsp - Maida (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/4 cup minus 1 tbsp - Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp - Cheese spread
  • 1 tsp - Butter
  • 2 tbsp - Bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp - Chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp - Pepper
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Macaroni and Cheese

  • Boil water, add pasta and cook until soft yet crunchy to bite. Drain water and set aside.
  • In a bowl, add maida, pepper and chilli flakes, mix well and set aside.
  • Heat butter in a pan, add maida mixture and roast for a minute.
  • Then add milk little by little and whisk so that no lumps are formed. Keep stirring in low flame with whisk to avoid lumps.
  • In a few minutes, it will form a slightly thick creamy smooth sauce.
  • At this stage, add cheese spread and Cheddar cheese and give a quick stir.
  • Once cheese has melted, add the cooked pasta, mix once and switch off the flame immediately.
  • Top with bread crumbs toasted in 1/2 tsp butter till golden brown and serve hot.
