  • Grated unripe mango - 1 cup
  • Basmati rice - 2 Cups
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggery - 1/2 tsp
  • Bengal gram - 1/4 tsp
  • Peppercorn - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 3-4
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • For Seasoning:
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafetida - 1 pinch
  • Turmeric - 1 pinch
  • Urad dal -1/4 tsp
  • Bengal Gram dal -1/4 tsp
  • Groundnuts - 2 tsp
  • Curry leaves

How to Make Mango Chitranna

  • Cook basmati rice and keep it aside.
  • Dry roast the dals, cumin seeds and pepper corns. Powder them in a blender.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and blend it thoroughly to a paste-like consistency.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the seasoning ingredients.
  • Mix the cooked rice with the seasoning and the paste thoroughly.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
