  • 1.5 cups - leftover green khichidi
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp each of cumin and mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 stalk curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 tbsp - chopped coriander
  • 1 pinch asafetida
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder and turmeric
  • salt to taste

How to Make Masala Khichidi

  • Heat oil, break chillies into it in big pieces.
  • Add urad dal, then add cumin and mustard seeds, curry leaves, chillies and asafoetida.
  • Next add khichidi, lemon, chilli powder, turmeric and salt.
  • Mix well and cook covered for 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
