Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - raw rice
  • 1/4 cup - split moong dal
  • 1/4 cup - channa dal
  • 1/4 cup - masoor dal and toor dal
  • 1 cup - milk
  • 1 cup - Milkmaid
  • 2 cups - sugar
  • 3 tsp - ghee
  • 2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 10 - cashews
  • 2 tbsp - grated coconut

How to Make Mixed Dal Paayasam

  • Pressure-cook the dals with rice, 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of water (up to 3 hisses).
  • Coarsely grind the dal-rice mixture with a hand blender.
  • Add sugar and Milkmaid. When the mixture starts boiling, put the flame on simmer and cook for a while.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashew pieces brownish.
  • Add the cardamom powder, fried cashew pieces and ghee to the dal-rice mixture. Turn off the flame.
  • Add the grated coconut to the mixed dal paayasam.
