Ingredients

  • green gram (moong) dal - 1 cup
  • black gram (urad) dal - 1/2 cup
  • bengal gram (chana) dal - 1/2 cup
  • fenugreek seeds - 2 tsp
  • cumin seeds - 2 tsp
  • red chillies 4 to 6
  • asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  • rice flour - 1 cup
  • whole wheat flour - 1/2 cup
  • ragi (black millet) flour - 1/2 cup
  • curds - 2 cup
  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • oil to cook dosas
  • salt to taste

How to Make Multi Grain Dosa

  • Wash and soak all the dals with fenugreek in water for 2 hours.
  • Grind them with cumin, asafoetida and green chillies to a fluffy batter, using the water in which they were soaked.
  • Combine all the flours together.
  • Beat the curds till smooth and stir in sugar and salt.
  • Add the curds to the mixed flours.
  • Add enough water to make smooth, thick batter.
  • Mix this batter with dal batter.
  • Add more water to get a consistency like usual dosa batter.
  • Keep coveredfor 4-6 hours.
  • Make thin dosas on hot tawa, cooking both sides with little oil.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
