Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups - ground walnuts
  • 3/4 cup - sugar
  • 3 tbsp - cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs, yolk separated
  • 1 tsp - either essence of vanilla or almond
  • 25 gms - mixed candied peels, sliced fine
  • 2 tbsp. - bread crumbs

How to Make Nut cake

  • Beat the egg yolk. Mix together walnuts, sugar, cocoa, essence and candied peel and mix into the yolk. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture.
  • Grease a cake tin lightly and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  • Pour in the batter and bake in a preheated moderate oven for half an hour or till a knife inserted in the centre comes out clean.
