Ingredients

  • 3 tsp - oats
  • 1/2 - red chilli
  • 1 - green chilli
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 100 ml - buttermilk
  • Salt to taste
  • 200 ml - water
  • To temper:
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard, urad dal, asafoetida

How to Make Oats Thidhyonam

  • Heat oil, add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
  • Add urad dal, red chillies and asafoetida.
  • Add ginger, green chilli and chopped curry leaves.
  • Add oats and water.
  • Finally add salt and cook till oats are done.
  • Turn off the flame. Cool and add buttermilk (or yogurt).
  • Serve with moar milagai (dahi mirchi).
