Barbecued Hamburger is an incredibly flavourful oil-free main dish. Make sure all visible fat is trimmed off the mutton before it is ground for the burgers.

  • 500 gm lean ground mutton, all visible fat trimmed off before grinding
  • 1 medium onion, finely sliced
  • 1 inch piece ginger, finely sliced
  • 4 green chillies, minced
  • Handful of minced coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp. garam masala
  • 1 tsp. each of ground cumin and coriander seeds
  • 2 tbsp. ketchup
  • Salt and chilli powder to taste
  • 1 tsp. chilli sauce

How to Make Oil-free Barbecued Hamburger

  • 1. Mix all the above ingredients together and form into round patties.
  • 2. Place on grill over hot fire.
  • 3. As soon as juice starts to appear on top of the patties, brush tops liberally with barbeque sauce.
  • 4. Turn patties every few minutes and repeat, brushing with sauce till they are done.
