Ingredients

  • 250 g - refined flour/maida
  • 250 g - butter
  • 250 g - sugar
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/4 tsp - salt

How to Make Old Fashioned Pound Cake

  • Mix butter, sugar and eggs and beat them well together.
  • Sieve the flour with salt and baking powder. Fold into the butter mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Then pour into a buttered and floured cake tin.
  • Bake in a pre-heated oven for 35-40 mins.
