Ingredients

  • 2 cups - maida
  • 2 cups - sugar
  • 1/2 cup - ghee
  • 1/2 tsp - baking soda
  • oil to fry

How to Make Panasa Thonalu

  • Mix maida, ghee and baking soda to make a chapatti-like batter. Make small puris. Make 4 or 5 cuts to each puri and twist.
  • Deep fry in hot oil.
  • Make a one-string sugar syrup; add the fried panasa thonalu to it.
  • Keep them in sugar syrup for 5 to 10 minutes and remove.
  • Once they are cooled, can be stored.
