Ingredients

  • White channa - 1/2 cup.
  • White peas - 1/2 cup.
  • green peas - 1/2 cup.
  • Groundnut - 1/2 cup.
  • Basmati rice - 1 cup.
  • oil - 2 tsp.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Cumin (jeera) - 1 tsp.
  • green chillies - 4.
  • Onion (chopped) - 1.
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece.

How to Make Plain Protein Pulav

  • Soak white channa and white peas overnight.
  • Pressure cook the two dals with ground nut and green peas. Once cooled, drain excess water and keep aside.
  • Make a paste of green chillies, onion and ginger.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds, paste and saute.
  • Add the cooked dals and fry for 5 mins.
  • Add salt.
  • Add the washed rice and water to pressure cook. Allow for 2 whistles and switch it off.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and pudina.
