  • Chhenna made from 1 litre milk
  • 1 litre milk
  • Some cardamom powder and saffron
  • Sugar to taste
  • For Syrup:
  • Sugar - 3 cup
  • Water - 4.5 cups

How to Make Plain Rasmalai

  • Prepare Chhenna mixture.
  • Shape into 2 cm round balls and press slightly to form discs.
  • Mix sugar with water. Place on fire and stir till sugar is dissolved.
  • Allow to boil for 2-3 minutes. Add the chhenna discs, and cover. Cook for 20 minutes.
  • Let them soak in syrup for 3-4 hours.
  • Boil 1 litre of full cream milk.
  • Flavour with cardamom and saffron.
  • Add sugar to taste.
  • Drain the chhenna discs from syrup and add to hot milk.
  • Serve hot or cold.
