Ingredients

  • cooked rice - 4 cup
  • mint leaves - 1 cup
  • black pepper corns - 1/2 tsp
  • dry red chilli 1
  • green chilli 2
  • Ghee or oil - 4 tbsp
  • mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • onion - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • salt to taste

How to Make Pudina (Mint) Rice

  • Roast pepper corns and red chilli in 1 tsp of oil.
  • Grind these with mint leaves and green chillies.
  • Heat Ghee or oil in a Kadai.
  • Add mustard seeds.
  • When they splutter, add cumin seeds.
  • When they splutter, add onion.
  • When the onion turns light brown, add the mint paste and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add the rice and salt.
  • Mix well and remove from fire.
