Ingredients

  • 1 - big red capsicum
  • 1 tbsp - channa dal
  • 1/2 tbsp - urad dal
  • 1/2 tbsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - methi seeds
  • Lemon size - tamarind
  • 1 pinch - hing
  • 4 - red chillies
  • 4 -green chillies
  • 4 tbsp - oil
  • salt
  • 1 pinch - turmeric

How to Make Red Bell Pepper Chutney

  • Heat 2 tbsps oil, add channa dal, urad dal, mustard, methi seeds and red chillies.
  • Once the mustard pops, add tamarind, hing and green chillies. Keep aside and let it cool.
  • Cut red capsicum into cubes and fry them in the remaining oil until tender.
  • In a blender, grind the seasoning and then add the capsicum cubes.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric and some salt. Grind it until the chutney is soft.
  • This can be eaten with hot rice and oil or ghee.
