  • 1 cup - basmati rice, cooked
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 cup - red cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 5 strands - curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - black gram
  • 2 tbsp - powdered mung beans
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Red Cabbage Paruppupodi Rice

  • Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, black gram.
  • To this add onions, curry leaves and cook until the onions turns translucent.
  • Add the red cabbage pieces along with red chilli powder and coriander powder with enough salt.
  • Cover and cook the vegetables for a while.
  • Add the mung beans powder to the cooked red cabbage.
  • Toss the cooked cabbage, stir fry with the cooked rice and serve hot.
