  • 1 cup - Parboiled rice
  • 1/2 cup - Red cowpeas
  • 1/2 cup - Urad dal
  • 1 inch piece - Ginger
  • 2 - Dry red chillies
  • Salt

How to Make Red Cow Peas Adai

  • Soak red cowpeas with enough water overnight.
  • Soak parboiled rice and urad dal separately for 2 hours.
  • Drain the excess water from the red cowpeas, wash 3 times with cold water and keep aside.
  • Grind rice coarsely with ginger and red chillies.
  • Grind both urad dal and red cowpeas finely.
  • Mix batters with enough salt and keep aside for 2 hours.
  • Heat a tawa, pour a ladleful of batter, spread in circular shape and cook with enough oil.
