Ingredients

  • Basmati Rice - 200 gms
  • Jeera (Cumin seeds) - 2 tbsp
  • Cloves - 5
  • Black peppercorns - 10
  • Cashew Nuts - 50 gms
  • Oil / Ghee - 1 tsp
  • Salt

How to Make Simple Jeera Rice

  • Wash and soak rice for half an hour in a bowl.
  • In kadai/wok, add oil/ghee and saute the cumin seeds, cloves and black peppercorns.
  • Cut the cashewnuts into halves and add in the kadai.
  • Add the rice and salt as per your taste.
  • Cook the rice with minimum amount of water.
  • Serve the rice with any curry.
