Ingredients

  • 1 cup - soy bean
  • 2 cups - water
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 tbsp -oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 1/4 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 sprig - curry leaves
  • For coconut mixture:
  • 1 cup - grated coconut
  • 6 cloves - garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder

How to Make Soy bean Sukke - Thoran

  • Wash and soak soy bean in 2 cups of water for 6 hours or overnight.
  • Pressure cook it for 15 minutes with salt.
  • In a wide pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds to it.
  • When they begin to crackle, add jeera and urad dal to it.
  • Saute for 1 -2 minutes. Add curry leaves and stir well for 2 minutes.
  • Add boiled soy bean and coconut mixture to it.
  • Add salt if needed. Cover it with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes or until it is done.
  • Serve it as a side dish with rice.
