Ingredients

  • 2 cups - basmati rice
  • 2 tsp - butter
  • 5 - cloves
  • 4 - cardamom
  • 1 inch - cinnamon
  • 15 - cashew
  • 1 -onion
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - ginger- garlic paste
  • 100 g - fresh spinach
  • 3 cups - water
  • Salt to taste.

How to Make Spinach rice

  • In a pressure cooker, heat butter and add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon.
  • When they splutter, add onions, chillies and ginger-garlic paste.
  • Fry till onion turns light brown. Then add spinach and rice, and fry it for 2 mins.
  • Add salt and water.
  • Cook for 3 whistles. Then remove and serve, garnished with cashews.
