1.5 cups - milk
250 g - maida
2-3 tbsp - condensed milk
1 - egg
1 tbsp - butter
2 tsp - dried yeast
a pinch of salt
2 tbsp - jam
For coating: 50 g - powdered sugar
1.5 tsp - cinnamon powder
How to Make Sugar Doughnuts
Mix 2-3 tbsp of condensed milk and milk together. Warm over a pan of hot water.
Blend in the yeast and 2 tbsp of maida. Leave at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes to ferment.
Mix salt and the remaining maida together.
Add to the fermented yeast mixture along with the beaten egg and melted butter. Mix well.
Knead the dough well on a lightly floured table and divide into 12 equal rounds.
Cover each with a greased polythene sheet and leave to rise for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
Remove the polythene. Make a hole in the middle of each round. Fill in 1.5 tsp of jam and pinch into shape again.
Deep-fry in medium hot fat.
Drain on absorbent paper. Roll in sugar and cinnamon mixture and serve.
