  • 1 small pumpkin
  • 5 green chillies
  • 1/2 tbsp channa dal
  • 1/2 tbsp moong dal
  • 1/2 tbsp jeera
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 5 curry leaves
  • 1/4 tbsp asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp jaggery
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

How to Make Sweet Pumpkin Curry

  • Peel the pumpkin and cut into medium-sized square pieces. Boil them with salt and drain them.
  • Heat the pan and add oil.
  • In the oil, add channa dal, moong dal and jeera. Allow them to fry for 1 minute.
  • Put the green chillies, curry leaves and fry 1 minute.
  • Add mustard and let them splutter.
  • In the end, add the asafoetida and fry till it smells.
  • Now, put the boiled pumpkin pieces and fry for 10 mins.
  • If necessary, put the lid on the pan.
  • Add salt to it and fry for 5 mins. Remove the lid now.
  • Now, add jaggery to it and fry for 5 mins or till everything is cooked.
  • Serve this curry with hot rice.
