Ingredients

  • 1 - raw, unripe mango
  • 1 cup - rice, uncooked
  • salt to taste
  • To temper: 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • pinch of hing
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 - green chilli
  • 1-2 - red chillies
  • 2 tsp - peanuts

How to Make Tangy Mango Rice

  • Grate the mango after peeling the skin.
  • Cook the rice and let it cool.
  • Heat oil in a pan and temper with the ingredients listed for the purpose.
  • Add the grated mango.
  • Fry the mixture for a minute or two.
  • Add salt and the mango mixture to the rice. Stir well.
  • Serve with pappad.
