  • 1 Cup- Rice
  • 1 Cup- Toor dal
  • 1/2 Cup- Finely grated coconut
  • 4- Green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil

How to Make Tappale dose

  • Soak equal quantities of rice and tuvar dal in water for about 5 hours.
  • Grind them to a paste, fine enough to make the dose batter.
  • Grind the chillies and the coconut together and add this paste to the dose batter.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Keep for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Then make dose on a hot tawa greased with oil. Serve with coriander coconut chutney or any chutney or with saagu (a wet curry).
