Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 slices of bread, cut into 1/2 inch squares
  • 3 medium-sized onions, chopped finely
  • 5 tomatoes, chopped finely
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp each of jeera and saunf
  • 1 tsp each of coriander powder, cumin powder and pav-bhaji masala.
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbps oil
  • 2 tbps coriander leaves

How to Make Tasty Bread Upma

  • Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add jeera, saunf, turmeric powder and onions and fry till onions turn pink.
  • Add tomatoes, fry for a minute and then add the dry masalas.
  • Stir on a low fire until the masala cooks.
  • Add the bread pieces and mix thoroughly till the masala coats the bread.
  • Add salt and keep on a low fire for a minute or two.
  • Serve hot.
