Ingredients

  • ¼ cup clarified butter
  • ½ cup grated unsweetened coconut
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • Pinch of cumin
  • 3 cloves
  • Coriander leaves, optional

How to Make Tasty Yellow Rice

  • Saute onions in the butter until golden. Add turmeric, cumin, cloves and grated coconut.
  • Fry for a minute or two. Add rice and stir for two minutes.
  • Add to boiling, salted water. Stir well and cover.
  • Steam until rice is done. Serve garnished with coriander leaves, if desired.
