Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - raw rice
  • 1/2 cup - boiled rice
  • 4 tsp - urad dal
  • 3 - medium sized tomatoes
  • 3 - red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - asafoetida
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Thakkali Dosai

  • Soak rice and dal for 2-3 hours. Drain.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, red chillies and grind to a smooth paste without adding water.
  • Add salt and asafoetida.
  • Rest for 4-5 hrs and make dosas, the usual way.
