  • 1 cup - raw rice
  • 3/4 cup - tur dal
  • 1/2 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • 4 - red chillies
  • 1 tsp - asafoetida
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • 1/4 cup - coconut (optional)
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Seasoning:
  • 2 tsp - mustard
  • Curry leaves - a few, chopped finely
  • Coriander - chopped finely for the batter

How to Make Tur Dal Dosa

  • Soak dal and rice for a few hours and grind with all other ingredients and salt to a fine batter.
  • The consistency should be loose like rawa dosa consistency.
  • Temper with mustard and curry leaves, add the chopped coriander.
  • Heat the skillet and pour a ladleful of batter starting at the edges in a circular way.
  • Since the batter is loose it automatically fills the middle part; just fill the unfilled part with ladle.
  • Add 1 tsp oil and when it turns slightly brown at the edges flip over and make crisp on other side too.
