Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Turkish white rice or parboiled rice
  • 1/2 cup - brown lentils
  • 3 tbsp - risi( a type of pasta, looks slightly bigger than rice)
  • 1 tbsp - butter
  • Salt - as required

How to Make Turkish Lentil Rice

  • Cook the lentils, until they are just cooked.
  • Don't let them change their shape or get mashed.
  • Heat the butter in a pan, add the risi and fry until, they are light brown in colour.
  • Add the washed rice, lentils and the pasta in a rice cooker, along with salt and water.
  • Cook until the rice is done.
  • Serve the rice with green chicken curry or any curry of your choice, along with salad.
