Ingredients

  • 2 cups leftover rice
  • 3 tsp ajwain
  • 5 pods of garlic
  • 3 green chillies, slit
  • A few curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Bengal gram
  • 1/2 tsp Black gram
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Vamu annam

  • Roast the ajwain in a pan without oil and pound into coarse powder. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds. Then put rest of the ingredients except rice and ajwain.
  • Stir for a while and then add rice and ajwain.
  • Stir for a while and remove from fire.
  • Serve hot.
