Ingredients

  • 1 litre - milk
  • 100 g - sugar
  • 2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 50 g - corn flour

How to Make Vanilla Blancmange

  • Mix the corn flour with 1/2 cup of milk and vanilla essence to a smooth paste.
  • Boil the remaining milk with sugar.
  • Mix in the corn flour paste and cook till the mixture thickens, stirring all the time.
  • Pour out into a dampened jelly mould and leave to set in a refrigerator.
  • When required, dip the bottom of the mould in hot water, then turn out on plate.
  • Serve plain or with fresh fruit or jelly.
