Ingredients

  • 1 cup - wheat sooji/rava
  • 1/2 cup - finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp - hing
  • 2 tbsp - grated coconut (optional)
  • 2 tsp - finely chopped green chillies
  • 2 tsp - finely chopped ginger
  • 2 tbsp - curd
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

How to Make Wheat Sooji-Rava Roti

  • Dry-roast the rava on medium flame until you get an aroma. Keep aside and allow the rava to cool.
  • Mix all the other ingredients to prepare the batter (idli batter-like consistency). Add water if too thick.
  • Keep the batter aside for 15 minutes.
  • Heat a tawa, drizzle oil and spread the batter on it (about half inch thickness).
  • Cover with a lid and cook for about 3 minutes.
  • Turn the roti the other side and cook until light brown.
  • Serve hot with chutney or garlic pickle.
