Ingredients

  • 2 cups - yam, cooked and well mashed
  • 4 - stale bread slices, soaked in water and squeezed well
  • 2 tbsp - rice flour
  • 1 tbsp - corn flour
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger, crushed
  • Few - curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - fennel seeds
  • 3 - garlic cloves
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for deep frying

How to Make Yam and Bread Pakodas

  • Grind the fennel seeds and garlic cloves into a fine paste.
  • Mix the mashed yam, soaked bread slices, corn flour, rice flour, crushed ginger, chopped onions, chopped green chillies and curry leaves into a thick dough.
  • Heat enough oil for deep frying.
  • Make small balls from the mixture and drop gently into the hot oil.
  • Fry until they turn golden brown.
  • Enjoy hot as side dish or as a snack.
