I am Malathi. I am a working woman and a mother of two and live in Bangalore. I enjoy cooking for my family. I am giving a simple recipe for MorKozhambu.

Vendakkai (Ladies Finger) MorKozhambu

Ingredients

Tender Ladies finger : 5-6
Thick sour curd (slightly sour) : 2 cups
Grated coconut : 1/2 cup
Green chillies : 5-6
Ginger : One 1" piece
Tuvar Dal : 2 tbsp soaked
Jeera seeds : 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Salt : To taste

For seasoning :

Coconut Oil : 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds : 2 tsp
Omam seeds : 2 tsp
Curry leaves : 1 tsp.

Method :

  1. Cut ladies finger in 3" long pieces.
  2. Heat oil and saute the cut ladies fingers till they are cooked.
  3. Grind coconut, jeera seeds, green chillies, ginger and soaked dal to a fine paste.
  4. Add this paste to the curd.
  5. Add salt and turmeric powder and bring to a boil.
  6. Add cooked ladies finger and season with mustard and omam seeds and curry leaves.

This can be served with hot rice or even with Idli/Dosas, Vadas.
