Vendakkai (Ladies Finger) MorKozhambu
Ingredients
Tender Ladies finger : 5-6
Thick sour curd (slightly sour) : 2 cups
Grated coconut : 1/2 cup
Green chillies : 5-6
Ginger : One 1" piece
Tuvar Dal : 2 tbsp soaked
Jeera seeds : 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Salt : To taste
For seasoning :
Coconut Oil : 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds : 2 tsp
Omam seeds : 2 tsp
Curry leaves : 1 tsp.
Method :
- Cut ladies finger in 3" long pieces.
- Heat oil and saute the cut ladies fingers till they are cooked.
- Grind coconut, jeera seeds, green chillies, ginger and soaked dal to a fine paste.
- Add this paste to the curd.
- Add salt and turmeric powder and bring to a boil.
- Add cooked ladies finger and season with mustard and omam seeds and curry leaves.
This can be served with hot rice or even with Idli/Dosas, Vadas.
