Moolangi Salad/Moolangi Raita
Ingredients
Fresh Tender Mooli (or Moolangi or Raddish) 0.5 lbs
Cut Cilantro 2 tsp
Green Chillies chopped 2-3
Fresh thick Curd 2 cups
Channa & Urad dal(optional) 1/4 tsp
Mustard 1/4 tsp
Oil for seasoning 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Method:
- Finely grate the moolangi and keep aside.
- Heat the oil in a pan. When hot add the mustard and allow to splutter.
- Add the channa dal, urad dal and chillies. The dals add a nutty taste
to the dish.
- Take out the seasoning from heat when the dal turns light red.
- Add salt, curd and the seasoning to moolangi. Mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander.
Moolangi salad is ready to serve. This goes well with any pulao.
Note: Seasoning can be added just before serving and the rest can be
chilled. A slight variation of this is to add little pepper instead of
chillies.
