I am Vidya from Bangalore. I visit your site regularly and have tried some recipes. We have liked them all. Here is a recipe which I prepare often and it is very easy & fast to make. Hope you all like it.

Moolangi Salad/Moolangi Raita

Ingredients

Fresh Tender Mooli (or Moolangi or Raddish) 0.5 lbs
Cut Cilantro 2 tsp
Green Chillies chopped 2-3
Fresh thick Curd 2 cups
Channa & Urad dal(optional) 1/4 tsp
Mustard 1/4 tsp
Oil for seasoning 2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Finely grate the moolangi and keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan. When hot add the mustard and allow to splutter.
  3. Add the channa dal, urad dal and chillies. The dals add a nutty taste to the dish.
  4. Take out the seasoning from heat when the dal turns light red.
  5. Add salt, curd and the seasoning to moolangi. Mix well.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander.

Moolangi salad is ready to serve. This goes well with any pulao.

Note: Seasoning can be added just before serving and the rest can be chilled. A slight variation of this is to add little pepper instead of chillies.

Making time : 5 minutes
Shelf life : Best fresh.
