I am Smitha from Springfield, IL and a regular visitor of this web-site!! I would like to share with you this recipe "bhindi raita" which i had experimented and was appreciated!! Hope you all to enjoy the same!!

Bhindi Raita

Ingredients

250 gms cut Okra/Bhindis
2 tbs cooking Oil
1/2 spoon Mustard seeds
1/2 spoon Urad dal
Pinch of Asofoetida
1 cup thick Curd
1 spoon Chilli Powder
Buttermilk to add
Salt to taste
Finely chopped Corriander for granish.

Method :

  1. Take the curd in a bowl and beat it by adding buttermilk into a fine paste.
  2. Add chilli powder and keep it aside.
  3. Heat pan with the cooking oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal and wait till the seeds splatter and the dal to turn light brown.
  4. Add asofotoeda and the cut okras and keep stirring till the okras are crisp and fried.
  5. Add salt to taste and let the crisp okras cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Finally mix them with the prepared curd. You may garnish them with finely chopped corriander leaves.

Enjoy the dish with any Rice preperations or Parathas.
