I am Poorani Mohan again. Here is a spicy chicken birayani which my husband likes very much.

Spicy Chicken Birayani

Ingredients

Chicken - 1 Kg
Basmathi Rice - 400 gms
Onions - 6 (medium sized, thinely sliced)
Tomatoes - 4
Green Chillies - 8
Corainder, Mint leaves - 1 small bunch
Cinnamon - 2
Cloves - 6
Elachi - 2
Oil - 4 Tb.sp
Ginger, Garlic paste - 1 Tb.sp
Curd - 1 cup
Red chilli powder - 1 -1/2 Tsp
Dhania Powder - 1 Tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Kesar colour - 1 tsp
Ghee - 1 tsp
Salt - according to taste.

Method :

  1. Heat oil, add cinnamon, cloves and Elachi.
  2. Add Onions and fry till soft add Ginger, Garlic paste and fry for another 2 more minutes.
  3. Add salt then add Green Chillies (whole) and fry.
  4. Add Chilli powder, Dhania powder and Turmeric powder and fry it well until the raw smell goes.
  5. Add Tomatoes fry until it becomes soft add Corainder and mint leaves.
  6. Add curd and mix it well.
  7. Add chicken pieces and fry for a minute.
  8. Add rice, and Kesar colour and mix it well, and check for a salt.
  9. Keep in a pressure cook and cook until done.
  10. Add ghee while serving.
