Rajma (Kidney Beans Curry)

Ingredients

10 gms. ginger
5 flakes garlic
1/2 cup vegitable oil
2 large (300gms) onions chopped
1 cup coconut grated
3 large tomatoes chopped
1 tsp. red chilli powder
2 1/2 cups kidney beans soked overnight
4 1/2 cups water
1 tsp. garam masala powder
1/4 teaspoon termeric powder
salt
1 tsp. cumin&coriander powder

Method:

  1. Grind ginger&garlic into paste.
  2. Onions & coconut fry in oil (liteel) separately till golden brown. Then grind it & make a fine paste.
  3. Add water, tomatoes & kidney beans in cooker close it bring to full pressure on high heat & cook for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in cooker. Add ginger, garlic paste. Then add onion & coconut paste. Stir for few seconds. Add garam masala, red chilli powder, termeric powder, cumin & coriander powder & fry till golden brown. Then add cooked kideny beans.
  5. Close cooker.cook for 15 min.
  6. Remove cooker from heat.Allow to cool naturally.
