Hello,
I am Vaijayanti from Adelaide, Australia. I wish to share a recipe for Broccoli subzi. This recipe is a blend of east and west tastes because it is a western veggie cooked in Indian style. It does not take much time to prepare..just right for hectic times. Do send your comments to vaijayanti@hotmail.com

Jhatpat Broccoli

Ingredients

2 cups Broccoli florets
1 medium sized Onion,finely chopped
1/2 tbsp crushed Garlic
2 or 3 green medium/Hot Chillies, finely chopped
A pinch of Garam Masala
1 tbsp Cumin seeds
3 tbsps Oil to fry
Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Microwave the Broccoli florets till they lose their rawness and become slightly soft.
  2. Heat oil in pan, add cummin seeds. After the seeds splutter, add the chopped onion and crushed garlic. Fry till onion becomes transparent.
  3. Add the chopped green chillies. Add the broccoli florets, mix well and cover and steam the mixture for about 5 minutes on medium flame. Remove the cover, add the garam masala, salt and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with chapatis.

Serves: 2.
