Hi,
This is Padmapriya Sreekanth, Ca, already introduced to you, with my other contributions (Pineapple Rasam, Appalam Vathakozhambhu etc etc), which certainly have gotten me words of praise from all over. I am grateful to this site managers and the readers. This time, my recipe is a quickie - it is Buttermilk Rasam, which again was stolen from my mother's recipe book...Lots of laughter!

Rasam Powder - 1 tbsp
Salt - as desired
Asafoetida powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stalk
Mustard - 1 tsp
Red Chillies - 2 or 3
Cilantro (coriander leaves) - washed and chopped half a cup.

Method:

  1. Take a vessel with water and let water start boiling.
  2. Now, add rasam powder, salt, asafoetida, turmeric and curryleaves and let this boil for five to ten minutes. Switch the gas off. After a couple of minutes, add buttermilk to this.
