I am Srilatha living in Maryland with my husband Ashok. I usually visit this site for preparing new varieties of dishes. I would like to share Onion curry with you all which can be served with chapathi, poori or parota etc.

Onion Curry

Ingredients

2 onions
1/4 tsp of mustard seeds
1/4 tsp of urad dhal
A pinch of turmeric
3 or 4 curry leaves
1/2 tsp of chilli powder
1 tsp of wheat flour
2 tsp of oil
Salt as required

Method:

  1. Cut the onions into vertical slices.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. When they splitters, add urad dhal, curry leaves.
  3. Add onions and fry until they become slight reddish in colour. To this add salt and red chilli powder.
  4. Add water upto onions get dipped. leave it to cook until maximum amount of water evaporated.
  5. Take Wheat flour and make it to paste by adding water. Add this to the curry and stir it well. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Now the curry is ready for serving with chapathi or poori etc.
  7. This curry is easy to prepare and much useful even if you have no vegetables except onions.
