I am Neetu Jain. Living in West Virginia, Dunbar, with my great hubby Arpan. Originally I am from Kota (Rajasthan). Here I am contributing one of my favoyrite dish - Green Kofta Curry. Please send me your feedback on gauravsogani@hotmail.com. This is my first contribution in bawarchi.

Green Kofta Curry

Ingredients

For Kofta:

Spinach (palak): 1/2 kg
Green Chilli : 1
Salt : according to taste
Red Chilli powder: 1/4 tsp
Besan (Gram flour): 1tbsp
Bread slice : 2
Oil for deep fry

For Gravy:

Onion : 4
Tomato: 7-8
Ginger : 1 piece
Green Chilli : 2
Salt : 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala : 1/2 tsp
Sugar: 1 tsp
Malai/Cream : 1 cup
Cashew powdered : 1 cup
Ghee: 3 tbsp

Method:

For Kofta:

  1. Wash palak and cut into small pieces.
  2. Chop green chilli.
  3. Take one bowl. Mix palak, besan, green chilli, bread slice, Salt, red chilli powder in a bowl.
  4. Make small balls.
  5. Deep fry these balls in a hot oil.

For Gravy:

  1. Take a big kadai/or non stick vessel. Heat ghee. Add chopped onion. Fry till pink in colour.
  2. Then add ginger, green chilli and tomato. When done, blend all together in a mixie.
  3. Heat all onion - tomato mixture in a kadai. Add cashew powder, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, sugar and cream. Boil all till gravy thickens. Now add spinach balls in it. Boil for another 2 minutes. Your green kofta curry is ready for serve.
