Tasty Chicken Korma

Ingredients

Chicken - 1 kg ( usually one whole chicken) skinless
Onions - 1 and half big onion sliced
Tomatoes - 2
green chillies - 2
1 cup coriander leaves chopped
1/4 cup mint leaves
chilly powder - 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
yogurt - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1/2 cup
Whole spices 1 each of cardamom,cinnamon and cloves
Ginger - 3 teaspoons, ground
Garlic - 2 teaspoons, ground
Coconut milk - 3 teaspoons (available in cans)
Salt to taste

Method:

  1. First wash and drain chicken.
  2. Pour oil and add the whole spices then add the sliced inions and fry till golden brown.
  3. Add ground garlic and fry for a minute or so. Then add the chicken and fry for 3 mins.
  4. Then add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger paste and powders and fry again for few mins.
  5. Then add the yogurt, chopped coriander, mint and salt and let boil.
  6. As soon as it starts to boil, stir well, reduce heat , cover and let cook on low heat for about 25 mins.
  7. Then add coconut milk, cover and let simmer again for another 5 - 10 mins.

Tastes very good with naan, parathas or rice.

Note: People who prefer more spicy taste can add more chilly powder and chillies.
