Chicken in White Gravy

Ingredients

500 gms Chicken pieces
1 tbsp Poppy seeds
8-10 Cashewnuts(Kaju)
2 Onion, chopped finely
1 tsp chilli powder
salt acc. to taste
3 tbsp oil

Method

  1. Make kaju and poppy seeds paste with water.
  2. The paste should not be very thick.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.
  4. Add chopped onions and chicken pieces and fry for a while (till onion becomes soft and chicken becomes very light brown but remember don't over fry).
  5. Then add salt, chilli powder, kaju and poppy seeds paste to it.
  6. Keep frying and continue sprinkling little water in between whenever it starts sticking so that it doesn't burn or become reddish (the gravy should be white in color).
  7. After roughly 10-15 mins. add water in a amount such that the final gravy should be thick but pouring consistency.
  8. Keep boiling till chicken becomes tender.
  9. Serve hot.
