Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

Basmathi rice - 3 cups
Chicken pieces - 8
Chicken masala - 3table spoon
Green chillies - 3
Corriander leaves - a bunch
Yoghurt - 1/2cup
Cardamom - 3
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon sticks
Ghee
Oil
Salt to taste
Lemon - 1/2

Method

  1. Wash the rice and add 6 cups of water, cardamom , cinnamon sticks , cloves and squeeze 1/2 lemon and cook the rice
  2. Wash the chicken pieces,
  3. Grind coriander leaves , green chillies with yoghurt (do not add water)
  4. Marinate the chicken pieces with the ground mix for 30 mins
  5. Add some water and salt and cook the marinated chicken till its half done and then add chicken masala and cook the chicken (do not drain the water when chicken is cooked well)]
  6. Heat 3 spoons of ghee and 2 spoons of oil and fry the rice in a large pan
  7. Add the cooked rice to the above chicken and mix well
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and fried cashews
  9. Serve it hot with mango chutney and salad
