I am Mrs. Adeline Isaac, Bahrain its a pleasure to have Indian cookery site like yours a wide range and easy to do recipes. Thank you. Lots of women have gained a lot in cooking just because of your site I suppose.

Here is a very simple recipe which I learnt after coming to Bahrain with a little modification from my side.

Beetroot Raita

Ingredients

Beetroot grated - 2 cups
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaf - 1 stick
Red chilli whole - 4 nos.(or add according to spice)
Onion chopped - 1 small
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Curd - 2 cups

Method

  1. Heat oil add mustard seeds let it crackle add curry leaf, red chilli and onion fry till onion is golden brown.
  2. Add beetroot and salt and cook until 3/4th done.
  3. Let it cool.
  4. Add curd and stir just before serving.

Optional: Can add fried corn flakes (used in mixture) as dressing. Sprinkle on top.
