My name is Sonya, I love cooking which I learnt thru' trial and error methods. I had an intercaste marriage, and my family loves a variety of foods, and to match their tastes, I am forced to learn different types of cooking and found them very interesting.

Snake Gourd (Padwal) Raitha

Ingredients

A small bowl of sliced snake gourd
Same amount of fresh yogurt
1 tsp of grated coconut
1 green chilly
Oil and mustard seeds for tempering
A pinch of hing

Method :

  1. Beat the yogurt to a fine consistency, steam the snake gourd without any water.
  2. When half cooked remove and cool
  3. Mix with yogurt
  4. Grind coconut with green chillies to a paste
  5. Add this paste to the yogurt mixture
  6. Temper it with mustard seeds and hing, add salt to taste and garnish with coriander leaves.
