To wrap tasty fillings in novel wrappings, is a great
way of making food look more appetizing and attractive.
While there is no end to fillings, which may be sweet,
tangy or spicy, there are many many ways that they can
be presented. As we all know, food can be wrapped in
dough made from various flours and filo pastry, but we
can also wrap in cabbage leaves, spinach leaves,
colocasia leaves, etc.
Two most compatible methods of cooking wrapped food is
either steaming or frying. We can even stir fry some
dishes, to keep oil to a minimum.
It is best to prepared the dish, wrapping an all, and
refrigerate till about an hour or so before it is
required. The final steaming/frying/baking should be
done, a while before the dish is to be served.
This makes it easy to prepare such dishes much in
advance, keeping last minute cooking to a minimum.
